High quality luxury knitwear that lasts - so you can wear it time and again - for years

I maintain rigorous quality standards, everything is ethically made and never mass-produced - ‘slow fashion’ at its best. And I knit only small quantities of any one design which means wastage is reduced and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain.

For beautiful luxury knitwear that lasts, I select high-quality yarns and I craft my pieces with great care. And, of course, I love my customers to continue to buy new items from me, I also want each piece to last as long as possible. I want the pieces you buy from me to be the ones you wear time and again. I’m delighted that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

I maintain rigorous standards throughout my business - there are faster ways to work but then I might not be able to maintain my high standards.

 Shopping sustainably and thoughtfully

There is a lot of wastage in the fashion business – and ‘fast fashion’ is a major culprit. I believe in ‘slow fashion’; and knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’.

I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece to keep it in good condition.

This is a big subject. You can find out more, and discover practical steps you can take, on my blog post ‘The case for slow fashion and dressing for the planet’.

Women’s luxury knitwear - designed and handmade in Surrey

I design, knit and finish my knitwear in my home-studio in Molesey near Hampton Court and the Thames in Surrey, in the south of England.

I knit on vintage domestic knitting machines (dating from the 1970’s) and I also hand dye and hand paint many pieces.

The luxury yarns I use are worth the investment because they are high quality, long-lasting, dye beautifully and wash well, and they feel and look lovely to wear. Each garment is created to drape, fit and flatter.

Hampton Court Palace is very close to my home-studio in East Molesey Surrey so we were recently able to enjoy this display of glorious poppies in front of the Palace
