Delivery/shipping
-
There is currently no charge for standard delivery/shipping for full price items within the UK mainland.
Delivery/shipping to Northern Ireland is no longer possible.
I charge a flat rate of £5.50 per order for reduced and/or sale items to be delivered within mainland UK. NB Shipping to Northern Ireland is no longer possible.
Within the UK I use courier services or Royal Mail. This usually takes 3 to 5 days from dispatch to delivery.
A signature may be required on delivery.
-
For destinations outside the UK mainland, shipping is charged in addition to the item price.
Some countries also charge duties and/or taxes when goods enter the country. These are not under my control and are the responsibility of the recipient. They are not refundable under any circumstances.
For orders to all destinations outside the UK, you will select the relevant shipping option at checkout based on what you are buying.
For orders to the USA, the shipping options you will see at checkout will now also include the import tariff and the courier’s handling fee, which are automatically calculated. At the present time the total of the import tariff with the courier’s handling fee is 11% of the order.
See the table towards the bottom of the page for current shipping costs for North America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. NB from December 2024 shipping to the EU and Northern Ireland is no longer possible.
Your total shipping costs will be clear before you complete your purchase and make your payment so you can still change your mind if you wish to.
If you would like to know delivery/shipping costs for delivery outside North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, please get in touch and I will be happy to confirm costs for your order.
See the table below for costs (which are correct for 2025).
-
If you need your order to be delivered by a specific date please let me know as soon as possible so I can make sure I have your item in stock, or will be able to make it by the date you need.
-
From time to time additional customs charges, tariffs, duties and taxes are levied on parcels as they enter some countries.
These charges are not under our control and are the responsibility of the recipient. With the exception of the USA, tariffs/customs duties are not included in our product or shipping/delivery costs. Import tariffs for the USA are now calculated automatically for orders on this website and you’ll see them included when you reach the checkout
Customs and such other additional charges cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If you would like to know the likely total for customs or tariff costs before ordering please get in touch telling me what you would like to order and I will research and confirm.

Within the UK I'm happy to send items for Next Day Delivery if they are in stock. I usually use Royal Mail's 'guaranteed next day’ service for this.
There will be an additional charge for this service - currently usually £13.50. This covers up to 2 items sent in one shipment.
You'll need to phone or email me before 11am so I can confirm your order is in stock and take a note of your card details.
Your order will be delivered next business day before 4pm.
A signature will be required on delivery.
The charge for next day delivery for orders of 3 or more garments will be confirmed as soon as possible after you place your order.
-
I keep a small number of items in stock. If I have your item in stock, your order will usually be posted within 2 - 3 days of me receiving your order and payment. For orders within the UK you will usually receive it 3 - 5 days after posting or despatch.
For orders outside the UK shipping times vary hugely. Please let me know of you would like me to research and confirm likely timings.
Sometimes there may be a short delay before your order is despatched, for example if I am away at a show or event. If any of these circumstances apply I will advise you as soon as possible.
If your order isn't in stock I'll let you know asap. Usually I'll be able to knit it specially for you and you should usually allow up to 28 days for it to arrive.
Sometimes a particular yarn or colour which I need to fill an out-of-stock order may be temporarily or permanently unavailable, so there may be a longer wait than usual or I may not be able to knit your order at all. If this is the case I will let you know as soon as possible. This is because I buy my yarns from smaller, artisan spinners who make the most interesting yarns.
You will be free to change your mind and have a full refund if you would prefer not to wait.
If you need your order for a specific event or date please let me know. I’ll do my best to help, and I’ll let you know what I can do.

From 13-12-24 it will not be possible for me to fulfil any orders to either Northern Ireland nor any of the countries of the EU. At present the implementation costs, bureaucracy and red tape required by the GPSR legislation are prohibitive and simply unrealistic for my one-person business. I hope this situation will be temporary and that I will be able to fulfil orders to these countries in future.

Prior to Summer 2025 orders under $800 to the USA were free from tariffs.
Due to recent changes, items shipped to the USA are now subject to 10% import tariff (10% at the time of writing - the amount is subject to change at any time) which must be paid before the goods cross the border. In addition, my courier charges a small handling fee to manage this process. At the present time the handling fee is approximately 1% of the order.
For my USA customers the tariff and handling fee is now automatically calculated on the product value and included in the shipping total at checkout.
If you have a question please do get in touch, I’m always happy to help.

I want you to be able to buy my knitwear on this web site with absolute confidence. And I hope you'll be delighted with your purchases.
However, if you've changed your mind, any item you have bought through my website or by telephone or email order may be returned to me for exchange or refund provided it fulfils the following conditions:
You need to notify me that you intend to return an item by email within 14 days of receipt.
The item you are returning must reach me within 30 days from the date you received your order.
Do not remove any tags, labels or swing tickets from the item until you are sure you want to keep the item.
The item you are returning must be in perfect condition, unworn, unwashed, with all of the tags/swing tickets still properly attached to the garment.
If any of the tags have been removed the garment is deemed to have been worn and I cannot exchange or refund.
Return costs are at the customer’s expense.
-
You should use the original packaging or other packaging which is at least as protective to the item you are returning. You'll need to be sure to pack items safely and securely for all returns by whatever method.
If you wish to return an order which included gift packaging and would also like the gift packaging cost to be refunded, the gift packaging must also be returned in perfect and saleable condition.
Returns are at your cost.
I recommend that you use an insured and tracked method if you wish to return items to me. I am happy to advise on return methods, so please get in touch if you'd like help or advice.
You must obtain proof of posting - without this neither of us will be able to make a claim against Royal Mail for loss of any items that fail to reach me.
I can’t issue a refund or exchange if a returned item doesn't reach me - or if it arrives damaged - or if it arrives in a condition in which I can’t sell it.
Please be sure to include a copy of your proof of purchase, this can be the purchase invoice, delivery note or receipt.
Please also include a note of your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and the reason you are returning the item, inside the package.
For exchanges, you'll need to let me know the items you'd like instead.
Your exchange or refund will be issued as soon as possible after I receive your returned garment.
I am happy to accept returns in person by prior arrangement.

If you wish to return anything you bought DURING DECEMBER as a Christmas gift:
Make sure that no tags or swing tickets have been removed.
The item you are returning must be in perfect condition, unworn, unwashed, with all of the tags still properly attached to the garment.
You need to send me an email by 14th January confirming that you are returning an item, and what it is.
Your returned item must reach me no later than 31st January.
The only exception to the above is if I have agreed with you in writing that a later return than this is acceptable.
-
For purchases from this web site within the UK the purchase price including standard UK shipping will be refunded to you in full, provided you have fulfilled all of the criteria listed above.
Please read the return criteria listed above carefully. The key points are that the returned item must reach me in perfect condition, unworn, unwashed, with all of the tags still properly attached to the garment, using the original packaging or other packaging at least as good.
Refunds will be made to the card with which the original purchase was made.
Any costs you have incurred returning the item to me will not be refunded unless the garment is faulty.
If duty, tax, or any other additional charge has been levied on your order such charges are not under our control and cannot be refunded to you.
The cost of returning an item to me from within the UK will vary from between £3.50 to £11.50 depending on the size and weight of the item you are returning, the number of items, and the method used. Returning items is at your cost.
If you paid extra for next day delivery that will only be refunded to you if the item is faulty.
-
I cannot refund or exchange used, worn, washed, or customer damaged items (statutory rights not affected).
I cannot refund or exchange any item from which any of the tags/swing tickets have been removed.
I cannot refund or exchange special or custom sizes, or any bespoke garments, bespoke garment sizes, lengths or colours - that is, any items which are not part of my standard ranges.
If in doubt please ask for clarification before you place your order.
Any taxes, duties etc that you have been charged cannot be refunded.
-
In the UK when you buy from my website you have an absolute right to return your purchase for a refund, as described above. This is because until the item reaches you, you won't have had an opportunity to see it in person, to try it on and to examine it fully, and I want my customers to be able to buy from my web site or by mail order with absolute confidence.
When you buy in person you have the opportunity to examine the item fully, and the same rights don't apply. And I have no way to be sure that the item hasn't been worn. This means that when you buy in person you don't have the right to a refund if you have changed your mind. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like further clarification.
