Contemporary Textiles Fair 2015 at the Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington
Contemporary knitwear at the Landmark
I'm lucky to be selected to exhibit my knitwear at wonderful events in stunning venues. The most recent of these was the Contemporary Textiles Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington, TW11 9NN.
The Contemporary Textiles Fair is a fabulous showcase for my knitwear
The Landmark Arts Centre is a magnificent Grade 11* listed building - formerly the Church of St Alban the Martyr. It was used for worship until the early 1970's but became redundant and was neglected for many years. A campaign by local people (amongst others) meant the building was rescued, to become the home of a charitable arts centre which mounts a dynamic, varied arts programme.
The recent annual Contemporary Textiles Fair is part of this programme. This event has now been running for a number of years, and draws visitors, shoppers, textiles enthusiasts and exhibitors from near and far.
Contemporary knitwear combined with an eclectic range of wearable and hangable art - what more could you ask?
I've been selected to take part for a number of years. The 2015 Contemporary Textiles Fair was 6th to 8th March. It showcased over 76 individual designer makers offering an eclectic range of wearable and hangable textile art; the Landmark Arts Centre makes a stunning venue and dramatic backdrop for the event. As well as my knitwear there was a selection of other knitwear, adult's and children's clothing, textile jewellery, wall art, felted homewares and decorative pieces, and much more. It's worth making a note now so you don't miss the 2016 event (planned dates 18th, 19th & 20th March 2016).
