I design, knit and finish my knitwear on my vintage knitting machine at my studio in Surrey UK. It’s slow fashion, so everything is handmade, finely crafted and never mass produced.

You’ll find more wool-free knits in my ‘wool free collection’, and more size friendly knits in my ‘inclusive sizing collection’. And you may also like my ‘summer and warmer weather knits collection’.

See below for fibre content, garment care, and sizing notes.

  • Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.

And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.

I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

More about my cocoon dress or tunic…

The high viscose content gives the lovely drape, and it’s washable, easy to look after.

I treat it as a tunic in hot weather and wear it over linen trousers and a camisole top. When it’s cooler, add a slip or slip dress underneath. For much cooler days wear it over a long sleeve top (a thermal top if needed!) and trousers, leggings or thick tights.

Wear it either way round - the horizontal seam can be at the front or the back. Check out the pictures for ideas.

To make sure the fit will be right for you, it’s a good idea to compare the actual measurements of your favourite sweater to the measurements I’ve given for this tunic/dress in the diagram below.
