More about my zig zag cardigan jackets…

These handmade denim knits soften and fade with washing and wearing, in exactly the same way that denim jeans do.

The model in the first picture is 5’ 9” tall and UK 12-14 she wears size medium ‘charcoal’ denim jacket/cardigan fastened with one of my handmade brooches.

The older model wearing the ‘charcoal’ and ‘blue’ denim jackets is approx 5’5” and is size 100cm bust/39.5inches bust and is wearing size medium in all the pictures.

These denim cardigan jackets are easy to wear and easy to layer. They are washable. No need to dry clean. See garment care for details.

Fasten high or low to suit your body shape with one of my kilt pins or button brooches. If you prefer, wear it open without the kilt pin, or fasten it with your favourite brooch. No buttons or button holes.

  • Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.

    And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.

    I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

  • Delivery/shipping to UK mainland is currently free for full price items. If your item is in stock I usually dispatch in 2-3 days of receiving your order. Delivery within the UK usually takes 3-5 days from dispatch. Worldwide delivery takes longer than delivery within the UK. You can find more detailed information on my shipping/delivery/returns page.

    Destinations outside the UK add the cost of shipping at checkout. For some destinations customs duties and other tariffs may be added before or after delivery. This is not under my control and these costs cannot be refunded under any circumstances. You can find details on all of the above on my delivery/shipping/returns page.   • These cardigans are knit in 100% cotton denim yarn.

  • These cardigan jackets are knit in a slightly stretchy stitch so they are flexible and comfortable to wear.

    Both of the models in the pictures are wearing size medium. The older model is approx 5’5” and 100cm/ 39.5inches bust. The younger model is approx 5’ 9” tall and UK 12-14.

    The jackets in the pictures are fastened with some of my kilt pins/button brooches.

  • I recommend that you hand wash in tepid water (not hot) using a gentle non-biological washing powder/cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.

    As an alternative to hand washing, if your washing machine has a reliable delicate/gentle programme you can use this to wash your cardigan at a low temperature using a gentle non-biological cleanser. Pop it in a laundry bag or pillow slip if you are washing it with other items so nothing can catch on it to damage it.

    To dry your cardigan you can spin it on a slower speed and/or roll or squeeze it gently in a towel to remove most of the water.

    Lay it flat (eg on a towel) to dry fully. If needed you can gently ease it into shape and size while it’s still damp. And also if needed you can pat the edges into shape.

  • No - definitely not. Please wash it, don’t dry clean it.

  • Yes, it’s fully washable. Please see ‘how to look after your cardigan-jacket’ above and ‘garment care’ for full details.

  • Yes, this jacket is vegan friendly as it is knitted in 100% cotton denim yarn - it contains no wool or silk.

  • No. It’s totally wool-free so it’s not at all itchy.
