More about my slouchy beanie hats…
My luxurious merino-wool-rich soft slouchy beanie hat for women has a stripy rolled edge and a decorative 'running stitch' detail which enables you to adjust the size to your personal preference for fit.
These hats are light, practical and easy to wear - and everyone wears it differently! They can be worn slouchy style, beret style, or pulled down over your ears to be cosy and warm. Handmade in Surrey.
The yarn is soft and warm with a slightly tweedy texture and subtle coloured flecks.
They are fully washable and easy to look after. No need to dry clean.

Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.
And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.
I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

Delivery/shipping to UK mainland is currently free for full price items. If your item is in stock I usually dispatch in 2-3 days of receiving your order. Delivery within the UK usually takes 3-5 days from dispatch. Worldwide delivery takes longer than delivery within the UK. You can find more detailed information on my shipping/delivery/returns page.
Destinations outside the UK add the cost of shipping at checkout. USA orders will have the tariff automatically included together with the shipping cost. More details on all of the above can be found on my delivery/shipping/returns page.

My slouchy hats are knit in 50% merino wool 25% silk 25% nylon.

These hats are a loose fit which can be worn slouchy style, beret style, or pulled down over your ears to be cosy and warm. You can adjust the fit by tightening or loosening the decorative ‘running stitch’ which you can see running around the hat.
Everyone wears it their own way!

I recommend that you hand wash your hat in tepid water (not hot) using a gentle non-biological washing powder/cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.
As an alternative to hand washing, if your washing machine has a reliable delicate/gentle programme you can use this to wash your hat at a low temperature using a gentle non-biological cleanser. Pop the hat in a laundry bag or pillow slip if you are washing it with other items so nothing can catch on it to damage it. Very important - if in doubt, always hand wash.
To dry your hat you can spin it on a slower speed and/or roll or squeeze it gently in a towel to remove most of the water.
Lay it flat (eg on a towel) to dry fully. If needed you can gently ease it into shape and size while it’s still damp. And also if needed you can pat the edges of the hat into shape.

No, I’m afraid it’s not suitable for vegans as it contains wool and silk.

Yes - it’s 50% merino wool.
I am usually sensitive to wool and I don’t find these hats itchy. However, everyone’s sensitivity is different, so I can’t guarantee that someone with a sensitivity to wool will be able to wear this hat without problems.
