  • Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.

And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.

I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

More about my oversized soft knit sweaters…

I combine two yarns together when I knit these sweaters - one is my favourite fine silk yarn combined with a lovely viscose. This combination results in a subtle textured knit which dyes and drapes beautifully and is very comfortable to wear.

The hand dyeing results in soft colour shading so no two are ever quite alike. They are 65% viscose 35% silk.

To make sure the fit will be right for you, it’s a good idea to compare the actual measurements from your favourite sweater to the measurements I’ve given for the garment in the diagram below.

You’re always welcome to get in touch with me for more advice, I’d love to help.
