More about my swing dresses and waistcoats
These dresses are a flowy flattering style so they are good for most body shapes; they are designed to skim over the ‘lumps and bumps’(!). They work well for ‘apple’ body shapes, or for a less defined waist, or a longer waist - because they have have longer fuller skirts. Alternatively, I’m the classic British pear shape - narrow shoulders and wider hips - so I absolutely love wearing my swing dresses as they hide the bits I prefer to keep hidden.
There are no fastenings on the open front version so you can chose to fasten high or low, or wear it open. In some of the pictures I’ve used my button brooches and decorated kilt pins (see more here: button brooches and kilt pins, or use one from your own brooch collection).
I often wear mine as a tunic over trousers or leggings, or over a longer dress. The deep armholes and neckline make it easy to layer over polos or other thicker tops in cooler weather, or in warmer weather wear over a silky blouse or camisole top.

Standard length is good on heights 5'3" to 5'10"
Length at centre back varies slightly between each batch of yarn (approx 80-85cm). I’m happy to measure the length before sending if that would be helpful - just let me know
If you are between sizes, I recommend going to the next size up, which also allows for both Summer and Winter layers to be worn underneath
With apologies, large and small sizes are now sold out

Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.
And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.
I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.
