More about my silk ripple scarves…
These scarves are soft and light and come in a range of gorgeous colours. They are a shorter style scarf but are plenty long enough to style in various ways - see the pictures above.
The colours won't run or fade as I fix the dyes firmly, and the beautiful silk yarn means the scarves are luxurious to wear and will last for years when cared for properly.
There is no wool in them so they are not at all itchy.
They are fully washable and easy to look after. No need to dry clean.
See garment care for details.

These scarves are 100% pure spun silk and I hand paint them to achieve the colour graduations and range of colours. I fix my dyes firmly and they will last for years when cared for properly.

You should carefully hand wash your scarf in cool water using a gentle non-biological washing powder/cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.
A small amount of dye residue may be visible in the water of your first few washes.
Until you have washed the scarf a few times it’s possible that some dye residue may transfer from a wet scarf to white or light clothing. This will only happen if you leave the scarf on top of white or light clothing when the scarf is wet.
To dry your scarf - roll it gently in a towel to remove most of the water and lay it flat (eg on a towel) to dry. If needed you can gently ease the edges into shape.
You can read more general garment care information here. Or ask me - I’m always happy to help.

These scarves are a shorter style scarf - they are approximately 145cm-150cm long x 20cm wide.

1 Do I need to dry clean this scarf?
No - definitely not. Please wash it, don’t dry clean it.
2 Is it washable?
Yes, it’s fully washable. It is easy to wash and care for, please see ‘care of your scarf’ above and ‘garment care’ for full details.
3 Is it suitable for vegans?
No, I’m afraid it’s not suitable for vegans as it contains silk.
4 Does it contain any wool?
No. The scarf is 100% pure spun silk. It’s totally wool-free so it’s not all itchy.

Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.
And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.
I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.
