More about my bobble scarves…

These scarves are knit in a soft bobble pattern in silk and viscose yarns, which gives the gorgeous drape and sheen. The little bobbles are knitted in silk and the background is knitted in viscose. I hand dye many of these scarves - after knitting - so no two are ever quite alike. They are soft and light to wear - and they will last for years if you look after them properly.

There is no wool in these scarves so they are not at all itchy.

They are fully washable and easy to look after. No need to dry clean.

See garment care for details.

You can see FAQs here.

  • Knitted clothes and accessories are probably the perfect example of ‘slow fashion’. I believe that we should choose the clothing we buy carefully, select items which will last, ideally keep them for years, and know how to look after each piece.

And because I knit only very small quantities of each piece, wastage is reduced, and production is more sustainable. Nothing is made in the far east, everything is handmade in Britain, slowly and carefully, and made to last.

I’m delighted to say that some of my customers are still wearing knits they bought from me 20 years ago.

  • Delivery/shipping to UK mainland is currently free for full price items.

If your item is in stock I usually dispatch in 2-3 days of receiving your order. Delivery within the UK usually takes 3-5 days from dispatch. Worldwide delivery takes longer than delivery within the UK. You can find more detailed information on my  shipping/delivery/returns page.

Destinations outside the UK add the cost of shipping at checkout. USA orders will have the tariff automatically included together with the shipping cost. More details on all of the above can be found on my delivery/shipping/returns page.

  • These scarves are 50% pure spun silk and 50% viscose. I hand dye them to achieve the range of colours. I fix my dyes firmly and these scarves will last for years when cared for properly.

  • These scarves are a shorter style scarf - they are approximately 145cm-150cm long x 19cm wide.

They are plenty long enough to wear and style in various ways, please see pictures above.

  • I recommend that you should carefully hand wash your scarf in cool water using a gentle non-biological washing powder/cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.

A small amount of dye residue may be visible in the water of your first few washes.

Until you have washed the scarf a few times it’s possible that some dye residue may transfer from a wet scarf to white or light clothing. This will only happen if you leave the scarf on top of white or light clothing when the scarf or the clothing is wet.

To dry your scarf - roll it gently in a towel to remove most of the water and lay it flat (eg on a towel) to dry. If needed you can gently ease the edges into shape.

You can read more general garment care information here. Or ask me - I’m always happy to help.

  • No - definitely not. Please wash it, don’t dry clean it.

  • Yes, it’s fully washable. Please see ‘how to look after your scarf’ above and ‘garment care for full details.

  • No, I’m afraid it’s not suitable for vegans as it contains silk.

  • No. It’s totally wool-free so it’s not all itchy.

  • If you wish you are welcome to add one of my beautiful gift boxes tied with a ribbon of your choice to your order. If it helps, I can even send your order directly to the recipient with a gift message from you (for when you’ve run out of time).
